Path to Success

Path to Success

When your company is preparing to approach large clients, there are several factors that need to be taken into consideration. Let’s start by briefly evaluate three paths your business may be on and discover what it takes to get on the path to success, attracting the big fish.

Here are three paths that business growth can take:

  1. Snail Speed
  2. Shooting Star
  3. Catch the Big Fish

Snail Speed

Many business owners find that their businesses are running them instead of running their business. They get run into the ground and find little reward or success. This path may include a fear of change.

Shooting Star

Here is the business that grows so fast the owners become overwhelmed and do not have the right resources at hand. This can also happen through being overwhelmed by small clients and not taking the time to find larger clients, that will sustain your business after small client acquisitions slow.

Catch the Big Fish

This path allows the business to grow at a consistent pace, allowing you to manage your business and not let your customers outpace you. Get on this path by putting these 5 tips to work:

  1. Attract, keep and lock in big clients.
  2. Integrate “big business” culture into your company and      employees.
  3. Acquire the expertise you need to grow.
  4. Have the courage to make changes as you grow.
  5. Be prepared to invest a little more into going the      extra mile-*

“Attract, keep and lock in big clients,” you’re asking how do you do that? This could be really hard if you’re stuck in the small business mindset, let’s talk about the “big fish” mindset.

First consider all the benefits of gaining bigger clients:

  • Highly Profitable
  • Longevity
  • Security
  • Deeper pockets…

If you want to catch a big fish you need to believe that your company can make a different to theirs. Don’t get stuck in the mindset that a big company does not need the product/service of your small company. Remind yourself and team that they NEED YOU!

Take a look at how big companies operate and know which ones are the best fit for you and your company. If you know someone on the inside, have them put in a good word for you and persist. Gaining bigger clients is all about persistence. “No” doesn’t mean “No”- it just means, “Not now.” It’s your job to persist and ask, “If not now, then when.”

Finally don’t sit around waiting for the bigger clients to find you as that’s unlikely to happen. You need to get out and find them, be prepared to go outside your comfort zone.

  1. Excellent points altogether, you just won a new reader. What could you recommend in regards to your put up that you simply made a few days ago? Any positive?

I am so happy to have you join the Blog. I would love to give you a recommendation, but I am not sure which “put up” you are speaking of? Could you clarify a little so I can give you the best answer possible?
